Our Story

Water District No. 7, Johnson County, was formed & incorporated in 1968. The District secured financing from Farmer’s Home Administration in 1974 & began construction of the water system. Construction was completed in 1975 with service to nearly 600 customers accomplished in the rural areas of Southwest Johnson County & Northwest Miami County.

Today, the District serves over 3,200 customers in service areas that are not only rural, but urban, residential, commercial & industrial.

In 2017, Water District No. 7 acquired Consolidated RWD No. 6.  During this acquisition, the district added approximately 700 additional customers.

The District is governed by a 9-member Board of Directors that oversees the total operations & management of the District. The Board has regularly scheduled meetings to address any concerns, issues, or actions that are needed for the management & operation of the Water District.

Our Mission

Since its inception in 1968, the Water District has maintained high standards for providing a safe water supply to its customers. This goal remains as the Water District continues to grow and change.
